Sicilian almonds are highly regarded for their taste values: sweetness and characteristic, intensive fragrance. Not so long ago they used to be eaten primarily by those who laboured in the fields, because almonds supply the organism with lots of energy without straining it at the same time. Our forebears, who consumed up to 5000 calories daily, could eat it at work. Women who were consuming almonds while they were pregnant did not need any other dietary supplements. We offer shelled almonds which we obtain in a simple process: the almonds are immersed in warm water and the thin peel is removed, next they are roasted in an oven and salted.
